Back in times, on Dell Precision M6500 and older there was a keys combination that could bring up EC menu where you could turn thermal management off. But this menu was removed from newer laptops, so taking control over the fans was not an easy task. Turns on but screen doesn't start. I hope yall can help me with this, i'm a little desesperate about it. So here's the thing. 2017 the all-in-one does NOT turn on. I contacted dell and they told me that I need a Motherboard replacement. This device cost $1,599. I’ve GOOGLED Dell Inspiron 24 7000 series and there is countless stories about.
This is an interesting one that we have dealt with. The built in Intel card is used for the laptop display, where the Nvidia card is used for external displays. I am not sure if you can force change this to use the Nvidia for the onboard panel or not.The only advantage we have found with the Precisions that come with the Nvidia cards is they can do triple displays. You can have 2 external displays on and also have the laptop panel open and working as well, giving you 3 independent displays. Most of our Precisions have the ATI cards, and they do not include the built in Intel card.
With those you are limited to 2 displays only, and it uses the ATI card for the laptop panel itself (obviously since it is the only card installed). We have tried to stay away from the Precisions with Nvidia because of this setup. Most users do not need triple displays anyways. If I remember correctly, Optimus technology means that the Intel Graphics is always on, because is the only GPU connected directly to the laptop's screen. When necessary, the nVidia GPU does the heavy job, but it must pass the final frames already rendered through the integrated GPU to the screen.Although you don't mention the software you are using, we have been suffering that problem with Autocad, and after contacting Autodesk they told us they are aware of that, but have yet to release a patch. I have dealt with this problem recently.
I talked to Dell Support and they clued me in on the issue. This laptop has a feature called 'Nvidia Optimus' which uses and Intel Graphics Adapter for most tasks and only cranks up the Nvidia Graphics when a graphical task is needed, or when connecting external monitors. The reason your laptop cannot duplicate the display to a projector is because they are running off Different Graphics Adapters. If you disable 'Nvidia Optimus' in the BIOS, it should fix the issue. Here is an article on the subject. The Switchable graphics optionis in the BIOS.To get to this, power off, and when everything is completelyshut down, hit the On button and keep tapping F12 continuously whilst thelaptop boots up.This will take you to a screen with some options on it, youwant to do the following: -1.Go to BIOS SETUP2.Expand the VIDEO category3.Select Switchable Graphics4.Make sure Enable switchable graphics iscleared (i.e.
It is disabled).5.Confirm this and you should find your laptopshuts down. Start it as normal.Doing this means that the system no longer has the option touse the built-in graphics processor part of the CPU, it has to use the separategraphics card all the time.SammMoney wrote:One of my power users just brought this up to me. He noticed over the weekend his computer lagging graphically while working on a project. He went to check the graphics settings and notice his laptop a Dell Precision M4800 with an NVidia Quadro K2100 was using the Intel HD Graphics as the main display adapter.Does anyone have any idea where to change the default display adapter? HI,very thanksful for replay.I have new dell laptop precision 7710 with Nvidi Quadro m4000m (graphic card) and I need to connect it to external monitor 3d (samsung with 120 hz fr.vert. At my case). It needs to work with 3d nvidia stereo glasses and 3d nvidia adapter (I have an experience with it,I have it all ).I work in stereo mode.I connect my laptop with Monitor 3d with Startech MDP2DVID (receommended by company) but I do not have 3d vision at my external monitor.I installed video drivers Intel of motherboard(non stereo card) and second drivers Nvidia Quadro m4000m(stereo card). All without problems. When I connect all I have not stereo!!! When I check configuration,my external monitor is connected with Intel motherboard card and is not connectr with Nvidia m4000m stereo card. and it is impossible to do.I tried to uninstall Intel motherboards video card, but without it windows (7 64 bit) does not want to work well and give me instruction that I NEED TO HAVE INTEL VIDEO CARD.Crazy.may I have some help, please?Best regards to all.Bobbyb.
So it turns out that it can't be switched in the bios for the 5520 model. I had an external IT company look into and apparently the tech at Dell said this particular model couldn't switch to use the nvidia card full time.If I disable the onboard graphics, it won't allow external monitors to be displayed. Which when using Civl3D is very painful.I couldn't find an option for 'optimus' anywhere in the bios setup?I'm at a loss.Will3rd do you have a link for the GPU switcher software at all? I'd be very interested to see if this works or maybe I should get a second opinion.?Cheers for the replies everyone!Steve.
Many Dell business laptop computers come with support for the Bluetooth personal area networking protocol. In addition to letting you connect an earbud wirelessly to your cellular phone, Bluetooth also works with your laptop computer. You can connect devices like keyboards, mice and headsets over Bluetooth so that you can be more productive when you are working away from your office. In addition, you can share files between your computer and some Bluetooth-equipped smartphones without needing to use a sync cable.
