Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds lets you lead Star Wars armies to victory in intense real-time strategy clashes. Enter the fray as the Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, Trade Federation, Wookiees, and other civilizations or organizations in campaigns that will determine the final outcome of the Galactic Civil War. Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga includes Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds and the expansion pack Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds: Clone Campaigns. Execute campaigns over land, sea, and air in single-player campaigns, skirmishes, and local multiplayer battles.
Clone Campaigns, the add-on for, once again brings a RTS to the Star Wars universe. Although it's still using the aging Age of Empires II engine, with the addition of two new campaigns, the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Galactic Republic, it fills the add-on role adequately.
With the adding of numerous new units, changing the balance of the game by increasing in the population limit to 250 units, and playing the original campaigns with the new enhancements, those who enjoyed Galactic Battlegrounds will still log many hours with Clone Campaigns. Set around the story from, either Count Dooku or Mace Windu will be giving orders to one of their most trusted Jedi Masters depending on which campaign is chosen.
From there, similar to the original Galactic Battlegrounds, each mission will further unfold a story line as new technologies and units are possible when missions are completed. These new units and technologies do help speed the game up, but some missions can still take an unnecessary amount of time to complete. Some of that has to do with the buildings and other structures having too many hit points as it can take some time to destroy them even when attacked by numerous units.
